I sit with You
Aware that ‘I Am’ in your Presence.
The sense of ‘a memory of You’ replaced
By ‘Knowing’
Your Light casts its qualities within the purity of an uninhibited moment, that, for once,
I recognise.
A deep sense of relief is evident in this release.
Finally, the past & the future have collapsed into the nothingness from which they “seemed” to spring forth & “appear”
‘Ideas’ that bore no fruit,
But instead drew my attention away from where I Rest.
A journey is over,
A journey in my mind,
During which I believed I had undertook needless passage,
Away from Home.
& now,
By the shoreline,
(Where the water meets the earth)
I forget the oceans behind me,
Across which I navigated.
Following the ancient light of stars that mapped the skies,
But,
Were long burnt out.
A journey has ended.
Ideas of being ‘cast adrift’ & being ‘at the mercy of tides beyond my control’ have been seen for what they are.
Waters pulled back & forth by a moon which can only reflect the light which illuminates the space it occupies, now hold steady, with no movement.
There is a ‘Stillness’ that underlies the belief in ‘movement’
& I feel the presence of this Stillness,
& Know it to be True.
The dreams of ‘activity’ which I fell into
Are gently replaced by the presence of a new dawn.
That which fades was never Eternal,
Because it changed from moment to moment.
& that which is ‘Changeless’ knows nothing of comings & goings.
So I give thanks that ‘I Am’
That ‘You Are’
That we are ‘One indivisible Self’
Kept safe from the madness of wrong-minded perception by the majesty of Your Supreme Intelligence.
Allowed to dream of separation but never once untethered.
Acting out fantasies in a play pen of my own making,
But never left unattended.
